Donegan during their years (1837-1854) as cotton commissioners (cotton factors). The office in New Orleans particularly kept a steady business correspondence between the two offices. Included are papers one might expect to maintain a business at the times.<br />Included in Box 1 is a copy of a paper delivered by Dr. Roberts to the Alabama Historical Association in 1974, "Fearn, Donegan and Company: A Case Study of the Cotton Factorage System in the Tennessee Valley." Original partners of the company included Thomas Lockhart, Dr. Thomas Fearn, and James J. Donegan. Later Isaac W. Moon and Albert Crenshaw of New Orleans were partners, and then William P. Atwood. Matthew W. Steele and Arthur Mosley Hopkins of Huntsville joined the company, and still later Donegan's son, James H. Donegan after his graduation from Georgetown College worked for them.<br />These papers are sorted by year and then grouped as accounts, receipts, and statements; bills of lading receipts; correspondence from Liverpool, England, the New York office and balance sheets; business correspondence with local customers, then sorted generally by area; some few personally related correspondence (e.g. Weakley, Fearn, Donegan) court case; and a few telegrams. Mrazek Collection Description An account of the resource William Anthony Mrazek “(October 20, 1911 to February 8, 1992)” received his education at Deutsche Technische Hochschule, Brünn, Germany, graduating with an engineering diploma in 1935 (Wade, Lundquist). Mrazek worked at Peenemünde from 1941 to 1945 as a loads engineer (Lundquist, Wade). He worked with Wernher von Braun at Peenemünde. <br /><br />Mrazek was brought to America through Operation Paperclip and arrived at Fort Bliss on April 8, 1946 (Wade, Lundquist). In 1950, Mrazek moved to Huntsville, Alabama, and worked for the U.S. Army’s rocket programs until 1960.<br /><br />By 1960, Mrazek became Director, Structures and Mechanics Division at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, and by February 1969, he became the Assistant Director for Engineering for Industrial Operations (Wade, Lundquist). While in Huntsville, Nörenberg worked as a midwife. She applied for permanent citizenship via the Birmingham, Alabama district court in 1958. She traveled regularly, within and without Germany, her visits often lasting long enough that she would both send and receive correspondence while she was away from home.
