Description
An account of the resource
Originally establishing a tobacco shop on Jefferson Street in 1879, brothers James B. and Daniel T. Harrison moved their shop to their current location in Huntsville’s Southside Square in 1897. After the building was damaged by a fire in 1901, the brothers rebuilt and expanded their store, reopening as Harrison Brothers Hardware in 1902. After James’ death in 1908, Daniel T. and Robert Harrison, their younger brother, ran the store. In 1940, Daniel T. Harrison passed away leaving Robert the sole owner of the store. In the 1950s, Robert’s sons, Daniel F. and John Harrison, took over the store. In 1952, Robert Harrison passed away. In 1981, Daniel F. Harrison passed away leaving John Harrison as the sole owner of the store. The Historic Huntsville Foundation purchased the store in 1984, after the store closed due to John’s death in 1983. As one of the first major projects of the Historic Huntsville Foundation, the store was reopened in October of 1984 and is staffed by several volunteers. The Historic Huntsville Foundation currently continues the operation of Harrison Brothers Hardware in Huntsville, making it Alabama’s oldest operating hardware store.

These images are from a Harrison Brothers' catalog. The No. 35 Special and the No. 30 Special were products of the Steubenville Pottery Company. The Forest Pattern and Daisy Pattern items were glassware products from an unknown company. The No. 9 Ware items were from the Rawstone Engraving and Printing Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

<p>"Bob Ward (1934 to 2018), a former managing editor and editor-in-chief of the "Huntsville Times," has written extensively about space since 1957. The recipient of numerous awards, he covered the Wernher von Braun rocket team as a "Times" reporter and as a correspondent for technical and trade periodicals in New York. The Birmingham, Alabama, native studied engineering at Auburn University, then journalism and history at the University of Alabama, before joining the daily newspaper where he worked for forty-three years. Since his retirement, Ward has been active as a freelance writer."</p>

This headstone is located in the Jones family cemetery behind Morton Hall. The headstone notes that Jones was a captain in the 1st Regiment of the Light Dragoons in the Revolutionary War. There is some dispute as to whether Jones is actually buried there.

Most of the family correspondence involves these children and families of S. D. Cabaniss, and his brothers and sisters who appeared to have been enormous burdens in these difficult years. William Anthony Mrazek “(October 20, 1911 to February 8, 1992)” received his education at Deutsche Technische Hochschule, Brünn, Germany, graduating with an engineering diploma in 1935 (Wade, Lundquist). Mrazek worked at Peenemünde from 1941 to 1945 as a loads engineer (Lundquist, Wade). He worked with Wernher von Braun at Peenemünde. <br /><br />Mrazek was brought to America through Operation Paperclip and arrived at Fort Bliss on April 8, 1946 (Wade, Lundquist). In 1950, Mrazek moved to Huntsville, Alabama, and worked for the U.S. Army’s rocket programs until 1960.<br /><br />By 1960, Mrazek became Director, Structures and Mechanics Division at the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, and by February 1969, he became the Assistant Director for Engineering for Industrial Operations (Wade, Lundquist). Mrazek later served as the “Chief Engineer for all Saturn development and fabrication work, reporting to the Saturn V Project Manager,” from “1965 to 1970” (Lundquist).<br /><br />Mrazek retired from the Marshall Space Flight Center in 1973 (Lundquist).<br /><br />Works Cited<br /><br />Lundquist, Charles. Mrazek was the 1978 recipient of the Oberth Award. During his career, Mrazek worked on the design and development of the Jupiter ICBM, Jupiter-C, and Saturn launch vehicles. He retired from Marshall Space Flight Center as the Associate Director for Engineering in Project Development in 1973.

Description
An account of the resource
William August Schulze (November 23, 1905 to November 4, 2001) received his education at Max Byth Ingenieurschule, Berlin, graduating with an engineering doctorate degree in 1935 (Lundquist).
Schulze was a guided missile expert during WWII, and he worked at Peenemünde from 1937 until 1945 (Wade, Lundquist). He was brought to America through Operation Paperclip, and he worked as a member of von Braun's Rocket Team (Wade).
By July 1, 1965, Schulze was employed at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "In the February 1969 MSFC Directory, he is listed in the Propulsion and Vehicle Engineering Lab, Vehicle Systems Div." He retired in 1969 (Lundquist).
