Cunningham Hall, the college women’s residence on the Oakwood campus, is named in Eugenia I. Cunningham’s honor. Mrs. Eugenia Isabella Cunningham, who served on the staff of Oakwood College and was widely known as Mother Cunningham, died on June 20, 1963, at the Riverside Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Morton Hall is located at 1310 Ben Graves Dr NW, Huntsville. It was the first building built on what would become the University of Alabama in Huntsville campus. This photo was taken after the 2020 remodeling and expansion of Morton Hall
Big Spring Park is a Park located at the heart of Huntsville Alabama. Ever since the construction of the park was completed in 1830 it has been a place for all ages to spend their time.
Grand Cleaners, located at 801 Franklin St. SE in Huntsville, was owned and operated by Shelby and Lou Johnson. The Grand Cleaners building opened in 1947 as a state-of-the-art drycleaning facility. Sterling Travel Agency now occupies the building.
North Side Square, located across from the Huntsville courthouse. This square holds many restaurants and other businesses, acting as a hub for trade in the city.
This is a front three quarters view photograph of the Weeden House Museum and Garden located in Huntsville, Alabama. It was the house of Maria Howard Weeden, a famous artist and poet from the late 1800s.
St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church was built in 1877 and has gradually expanded over the years. The church still stands today and has an associated school. The surrounding area has gone from a relatively empty small town to the bustling downtown Huntsville it is today.
Merrimack Mill was a mill that sponsored a number of things and created a booming industry for the town. Later it opened up the Joe S. Bradley school, and the mill was eventually turned into Huntsville park.
The congregation of First Baptist Church Huntsville moved into this new (and current as of Oct 2024) church building in 1963 but it wasn’t completed until 1966. Since then, renovations and expansions have been made to the church.
Moran Hall, located at Campus Rd, Huntsville, AL, was built in the 1930's. The building houses faculty offices and classrooms for the Department of History and Political Science and the Department of English and Foreign Languages.
Morton Hall, located on 301 sparkman drive northwest, is the hall right next to the Franks dorms and houses most of the language arts and other humanity subjects in uah. It is one of the oldest buildings on UAH campus which was first created in 1961.
This photograph shows the main entrance to the older wing of Morton Hall, which was constructed in 1961. It was most recently renovated in the late 2010s and reopened with a new wing in fall 2020.
